We’re Fully Compliant with Amazon Now!

Posted On: December 10, 2024

I appreciate everyone who shared their feedback and ideas on how to navigate Amazon’s new Community Guidelines. Your input is invaluable! Our recent survey showed that 99% of our members understand the importance of complying with these guidelines and are willing to continue their membership with these new platform updates in place to ensure their Amazon accounts remain in good standing.

Quick Recap of What Has Changed

The full details of this new update can be found in our Navigating Amazon’s New Community Guidelines member news post. Here is a quick rundown of what is new:

  • You will no longer be able to monitor individual reviews in the “My Reviews” section of your book.
    • This also means you will not be able to rate any of the reviews you have received.
  • We can no longer act as an intermediary regarding reviews. If you have an issue with any review you receive, you’ll have to contact Amazon directly.

What Has Not Changed

  • We are still internally confirming and reading each review left on our platform.
  • We can still deal with “bad actors” who intentionally try to misuse our platform.
  • You can still use the system as you have before, but you can not confirm reviews for your book anymore.
  • You can still see internal “Private Comments” if a reviewer leaves a comment with the review.
  • You can still earn high-quality reviews for your book.
  • Your total number of reviews and average star rating are still presented at the top of your book(s) to see your overall ROI for your membership.

New Features Released

While I was working on this update, I implemented the feature request to provide a reason for when a review is canceled.

I have also added canceled reviews, reviews in progress, and reviews awaiting confirmation into your “My Reviews For This Book” area on your book’s page so you have a record and progress indicators of all review statuses. The “Reviews In Progress” shows you all reviews that are still being read and includes the due date for the reviewer to submit the review. Similarly, I also have included “Review Awaiting Confirmation” which shows you reviews that have been submitted to GBR but have not been confirmed on Amazon yet. This also will show you the due date of when the review should be confirmed by.

Do you have a feature request? Please add it to our request page and vote on your favorite feature requests.

Coming Up

The next thing I’ll be working on is the new review confirmation and submission feature and the moderated reviews for members who have issues leaving consistently verified reviews. Also, we want your reviews to register as 100% organic on Amazon, and this new feature will ensure that.

I’m also hopeful that I can squeeze in one more top-voted feature request before the end of the year. I believe I can accomplish all the other popular feature requests by the end of January.

We also have our marketing campaigns set up for the new year. We’re already running one small campaign and are seeing great results. I’m very excited to bring more reviewers and a wider selection of books to be reviewed into our community!

Conclusion

I’m truly grateful for your understanding and support as we navigate these changes from Amazon. Your encouragement means the world to me!

It’s inspiring to see how much you care about GBR, and I’m committed to building the best possible book review club with you. Our new feature request system is already proving invaluable in guiding our development – thank you for sharing your ideas!

My goal is to make GBR a community-driven platform that’s truly responsive to your needs. This is your space, and your success is what matters most.
